Church Turns To Theater and Arts…  As Minister Preaches On The Set Of “Dracula” To Bring His Illustrated Message Of Hope…

Complete with coffin coming out of the ground and full set design.  Don Shorter is turning to the arts to bring his messages to the audiences in the Seattle-Tacoma area.  “We are taking the church to the people again,” he said, “This time to a performing arts theater with lots of history.”  Pastor Don Shorter will launch his first of many illustrated sermons on the sets of the Renton Civic Theater, a complete performing arts theater in Down Town Renton.  “Every set has a story we are simply standing in the place of the Actors and Actresses on Sundays to tell a different version of the story”, said Pastor Shorter, (a former Seattle radio and television on-air personality).  Pacific Church, (Pac Church) has two locations, one in Tacoma in a traditional church setting and now they are branching from tradition to go to where the people are, as Pastor Don puts it. “Times are tough, for many people they want to be diverted from the realities of their lives and theatre is one of the ways to enjoy diversions; we are simply meeting them where they already are by moving our church to the theater on Sundays”.   Read More

A Parkland area Pastor decided to use an Easter Egg Hunt as a small way for area residents to have a new beginning and hope in these economic tough times.  Donald Shorter, Pastor of Pacific Church (Pacific Christian Center) in Tacoma, Washington is inviting those in need of a little help to come to the church’s annual Easter Egg Hunt with their children and have some fun and be encouraged.     Read More
