Soldier to Soldier Fellowship & Assistance

WHo IS  Soldier to Soldier FOR?

Soldier to Soldier is designed to help those in need of emotion and spiritual guidance due to military related challenges in the lives while serving as Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, The Guard, and any First Responders, serving our country and working in our communities.  This one on one approach to healing the broken hearted and lending assistance to individuals and their families that have experienced trauma through military deployments and traumatic job stresses.  Soldier to Soldier is a military friendly group of volunteers that apply an out-reach through in-reach, approach to their assistance, by using testimonies, sharing and witnessing, to a whole new level of care and fellowship during their contacts with one another, exhibiting truth and honesty in their approach to help each another.

                             HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Lay volunteers leaders coordinate church fellowship meetings, personal checks and balances, and organize buddy system assistance teams for those dealing with issues involving, family, marriage, career and home life stresses and distresses under the leadership of the pastoral staff at PCC.  Personal issues involving depression, symptoms and remedies of PTSD are discussed and explored through laymen's terms and biblical means.  Professional counseling referrals are also available for those that desire further help through counselors that specialize in treatment of symptoms of the stresses and distresses of combat trauma related problems.

Congratulations Drs. Don and Kathy Shorter!

Awards of appreciation were recently presented by Lieutenant Colonel Mike Daniels, Commander of the Department of Defense - U. S. Army - Yakima Training Center - Yakima, Washington, to both Don and Kathy Shorter for their excellent training presented to the Military Chaplains, Ministers, Counselors and area Senior Pastors.

Both Don and Kathy Shorter were recognized for their "Seminar Presentation Excellence" in the subjects of PTSD and Family Stress Strategy training, held at the secured base.

Their seminar presentations coupled with their personal experiences of ministering to those dealing with PTSD, served to help many in attendance to learn how to identify, treat, train and assist military service men, women and their families struggling with symptoms of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and related family distresses that accompany these conditions.  Their presentations were very well received by the entire Military Command at the United States military base in Yakima, WA.

Thank you Pastor Don and Kathy Shorter for your commitment to our brave military men, women and their families...

Visit our Event Calendar for upcoming meeting times.
