Northwest of America. Dr. Shorter is a
businessman,
former radio
station owner, and radio and television broadcasting
host of several network affiliates in
Seattle/Tacoma ,WA. |
Dr. Donald Shorter Sr. founded Pacific
Christian Center in February 1988 with his family of four as the
only members. The membership has continued to grow and expand
each year. Construction on their new worship center was
completed in 2003 and serves as their main location in Tacoma,
Washington.
Dr. Shorter was licensed as a minister of the gospel in 1984 and
was ordained in 1999. Dr. Shorter has been recognized for
various scholarly honors, and degrees, and is a corporate
commercial airplane and helicopter pilot. He often
uses his pilot training to benefit his ministry and business
activities. He has served on numerous boards, and appointments
over several years.
Dr. Shorter met the former Kathy Lynette Hill while she attended
Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. They were
married in July of 1974, and have three grown children – Monet
Thompson, Dawnet Davis, and Donald Shorter Jr., and are also
grandparents.
Today, through the Teaching and Preaching ministry
of Donald Shorter and his wife Kathy, they are ministering in
meetings all over the world. Donald and Kathy
Shorter are regular hosts on their own weekly television and
radio programs entitled "It's The Life"
and regularly appeared as hosts and guests on TBN Network, The Word Network and The DayStar Network.
Through their nonprofit Community Development Corporation (CDC),
Northco Development Inc., which Dr. Shorter founded in 1998,
together they are touching many segments of our society with
needed practical assistance. Outreaches under this corporation
include Real Dads In America, Kathi's Kids Outreach,
Excellence In Business, The Men of Excellence,
The Women of Wealth, The Fat Free Lifestyle, and
First Lady’s Boutique, a successful women’s re-training and
career clothing outreach.
Dr. Donald and Kathy Shorter are best known for their
inspirational teachings that causes audiences to become
empowered to win in every area of life. Through their
numerous books, such as “Take Control of your Thoughts”, “The
Power in You”, “Guard Your Heart”, and “Living In The Kingdom of
God”, and “Winning Against All Odds” along with DVDs, Video On
Demand, video tapes, CDs, live webcasts, audio cassettes, and
seminars, they are powerfully changing lives daily around the
world.
