Happy New Year!

The New Year is always a time that most people set aside several days or even weeks to reflect upon the previous year or years gone by.  Some people have a glimmer of hope for the upcoming year and others are full speed ahead with much optimism about their future.  We as Christians call it faith.  As I exit one year and enter into another year, I have a strong belief that I can go at it again.  Reset goals or even dream a little bigger is so prevalent for me at the beginning of a new year, and like some people, get a renewed strength to stay in the race with determination to win.  No matter if you want to lose weight, break a habit, or start a business and so on, your spirit is so high you just know it’s going to work this time. Well, as I was reflecting over 2009 it dawn on me that it didn’t work in some areas. And I said to myself, “well I succeeded in this area, but I didn’t in that area”.  I started to sense my faith get a little smaller.  As I was mediating on the negative, I heard a voice inside me say, “whatever you do shall prosper.” I knew God was talking to me, but actually He was correcting how I was thinking.  And I immediately said to my husband who was standing close by, “Whatever I do shall prosper”. He just looked at me strangely, and I said it again, and then I went to my office in my home and looked up the scripture in Psalm 1:3  “He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”  But then I was drawn to read not only that particular verse, but also the previous verses.  And I knew what I had to do in order for verse number three to become a reality.

I believe you too can see your dreams come true and whatever you do shall prosper, but you must adhere to all the previous verses before you camp out on verse number three.  We have work to do, and according to Psalm chapter one, choices to make.  It doesn’t have to be a “hit” and “miss” year for you, it’s the “whatever” you do shall prosper.  Are you ready to succeed in everything you do? Just follow the plan of God and believe that 2010 is “your” year…go for it!

The Word of Faith
James 3:17
The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
