Write the vision and make it plain....Habakkuk 2:2

Dr. Donald Shorter's Blog:
Today we will spend a few moments in the current controversy of Haiti and whether a relationship to those that worship gods tied to satanic beliefs and not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, through Jesus Christ, are cursed or not. Could an earthquake be a form of judgment?
Though I believe many of the answers to life's most perplexing questions will be saved to be answered on the other side of eternity, as we presently only see through a glass darkly, (at best), the bible states. It is clear in the bible though that allegiance to darkness does not bring light. Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke) reprove them. KJV However whether a specific event can be tied to any specific sin is hard to string together. However, it does cause one to wonder what if anything was the cause of any specific event or catastrophe in any city or nation. Yes, I believe ultimately, sin is and was the cause of catastrophes in years gone by on many lands. But, sin in any size or form has its effect on mankind and his relationship with God and His creation. The earth is in an ever changing state, due to sin, if for no other reason than the original sin committed in the Garden of Eden by man, that is very clear as a, tit for tat scenario. Sin then results in something, and we all are witnesses of that repayment everyday on this planet. I believe this perpetual spiral of sin and results will continue as mankind continues in sin causing mankind to spin away from God's love and care. The answer for cause and effect of sin is simply obedience to God's will in the way we live and respect for the Almighty. This is something that must be considered in all that we do...what goes up must come down. What is done in the darkness will come to the light, (perhaps in the light of judgment and its ultimate price). There are many disasters every year around the world. What I do know is that, Jesus came to give us life and not destruction, St. John 10:10. God is the true protector seek him in these dangerous (perilous) times. Psalms 91.
